A common theme many Lutherans and Christians of all denominations will recognize is an overall need for more young people to enter into theological service and devote their lives to the worship of Christ and deepening the faith and understanding of other faithful.

As such, we’re proud to support scholarships for young men and women who wish to attend seminary and embark on a rewarding journey defined by love and worship of Christ.

We are proud to offer scholarships for Concordia Theological Seminary - Fort Wayne, IN and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. If you or a loved one are interested in attending seminary or you would like to help support our scholarships, please contact the parish at (952) 935-2044 or the Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Olson, Ph.D. at 651-503-8381 or by email.

Pastor Donald Leonard and Project Video

Pastor Donald Leonard has been spreading the faith and proselytizing in Southeast Asia and China since 1969, and has done much to spread the word of God to the Philippines, Thailand, China and Vietnam. He often works in areas with very low literacy rates, which can make spreading the teachings of Christ a little more difficult. His goal is further complicated by a shortage of quality translations of the Bible into many of the local languages.

These hurdles haven’t dampened Pastor Leonard’s dedication to lighting the world with these fundamental teachings, and he’s developed a creative solution known as Project Video to get around this roadblock. He recruits local native speakers to learn and reenact New Testament stories in their native languages for a largely illiterate audience who has never before been exposed to the Word of God.

We are committed to helping him further his mission to educate these people on the fundamental teachings that have so enriched our lives here at home. If you’d like to learn more about Pastor Leonard’s ministry or find out how you can help, please get in touch with us. Make sure to visit his Vimeo page to see some examples of the great work he’s doing.

Supporting Rev. Dr. Thomas Aadland’s Mission in Kenya

Kenya is a high populace country with many wonderful people who often lack opportunities and quality places to worship. Kenya is a country of extremes. Although it is known as one of the better educated African countries with a lot of positive attributes, more than half of the population still lives below the poverty line. It can sometimes be difficult for the life-affirming and improving teachings of Christ to cut through the many other issues facing these people.

Rev. Dr. Thomas Aadland has dedicated a significant portion of his career to performing missionary work for The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) in partnership with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya (ELCK). He proudly teaches Greek, the Bible and other subjects to seminary students at Theology at Matongo Lutheran Theological College in Kenya to help meet the desperate need for more deacons, deaconesses, pastors and training pastors to serve the ever-growing population of Lutherans in the country.
